The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is putting on a reception for legislators and their assistants from 5: 30 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. Thursday at the Piney Orchard Visitors Center, 2400 Stream Valley Drive.

Guests are expected to include Gov. Parris N. Glendening, U.S. Sens. Paul S. Sarbanes and Barbara A. Mikulski, County Executive John G. Gary, U.S. Reps. Wayne T. Gilchrest, Benjamin L. Cardin and Steny H. Hoyer, state delegates and state senators from Districts 32 and 33 and Anne Arundel County Council members.

BWI Business Partnership to welcome Shapiro Dec. 18

BWI Business Partnership Inc. will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at 1: 30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Holiday Inn at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, 890 Elkridge Landing Road.

Nationally known attorney and sports agent Ronald M. Shapiro will be the keynote speaker at the "Spirit of Success" meeting.

Shapiro and his Shapiro Negotiations Institute recently launched Talent and Teamwork=Success program. Admission is free to partnership members and $25 for nonmembers.
