THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas is on.

Less than three weeks to jam in shopping, baking, decorating and partying to celebrate the holiday season.

If you're already tired of the hustle and bustle and are looking for some diversion, here are some holiday happenings in Pasadena.

Sundaes with Santa

Lake Shore Elementary School, 4531 Mountain Road, gives you a chance to make your own sundaes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Sundaes with Santa at the school.

The school also will have Santa's Secret Workshop, with children able to have their pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Teen choir

The teen choir of Lake Shore Baptist Church will present its holiday program, "Code Red," at 7: 30 p.m. today and tomorrow at the church at 4613 Mountain Road.

Janice Rukes, church spokeswoman, said that the production is set in an emergency room on Christmas Eve. A group of teens anxiously waits for news of a friend involved in an accident.

The production is being directed by Deb Price, the church's new choir director. Admission is free.

Pancake breakfast

The religious education department of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church in Riviera Beach has scheduled its annual pancake breakfast and Christmas festival from 8 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. Sunday in the parish hall.

The cost is $3.50 for adults and $2 for children.

After breakfast, visitors may shop in the Christmas cottage for handmade crafts, gifts and personalized tree ornaments.

Inexpensive items suitable for children's gift lists will be available in the Secret Santa Shop. Free gift wrapping is included.

Santa Claus will be there to accept wish lists and have his picture taken with children from 8: 30 a.m. to noon. Visitors should bring cameras.

Wheel games will offer prizes including cakes, poinsettias, handmade country dolls and stocking stuffers for all ages.

The festival, run by volunteers, is the only fund-raiser for the department.

Shirley Thomas, the church's religious education director, said that parishioners and neighbors in the Riviera Beach community look forward to the annual holiday event.

"It has become a morning of fellowship for everyone in the community," she said.
