Governor declares Dec. 26 a holiday for state workers

Gov. Parris N. Glendening has declared the Friday after Christmas a holiday this year for all state employees, including district and circuit court workers.

"By declaring Dec. 26 a state holiday, we are giving our employees more time to spend with their families during the holiday season," Glendening said in a written statement yesterday.

"Through this simple gesture, we can say 'Thank you' to our state employees and their families for a job well done," he said.
