Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Western District

Officer assaulted/arrests: Officer Irving Hinkson was attempting to arrest two suspects during an alleged drug deal in the 700 block of N. Monroe St. Wednesday when one of them struck him in the face while attempting to flee. Bradley Markies, 21, of the 600 block of Pitcher St. was charged with assaulting a police officer and possession of suspected cocaine. The other suspect, 16, was charged as a juvenile.

Central District

Stolen vehicle: A 1997 Jeep Wrangler with tags 934294M was stolen Wednesday in the 600 block of N. Paca St.

Southeastern District

Robbery: A woman was in the 6300 block of Elliott St. about 1 a.m. Wednesday when a man robbed her at knifepoint of more than $100.

Northeastern District

Robbery: Two men robbed a man of more than $150 in the 3300 block of Erdman Ave. about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Southern District

Burglary: Lawn-care equipment valued at $250 was stolen Wednesday from the basement of a house in the 2400 block of Arbuton Ave.

Northwestern District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder valued at $260 was stolen from a house in the 3800 block of Reisterstown Road Wednesday.

Southwestern District

Theft: Someone entered a Buick parked in the 1900 block of Rosedale St. Wednesday and stole a bag of laundry.

Eastern District

Robbery: A man was in the 1900 block of Belair Road about 2: 30 p.m. Wednesday when another man asked him for a quarter. When the victim opened an envelope containing $375 and was looking for a quarter, the suspect grabbed the envelope and fled.

Essex Precinct

Robbery: A gunman wearing a Chicago Bulls jacket robbed O-GO Sales in the 500 block of Eastern Blvd. of an undisclosed sum of money about 1: 25 p.m. Wednesday.

North Point Precinct

Theft/arrest: A man was arrested Wednesday when he attempted to leave the Sears store at Eastpoint Mall without paying for two hair trimmers valued at nearly $70.

Burglary: A Rossi .38-caliber revolver with serial number AA909475, a speed loader with six rounds and several TV games, all valued at more than $400, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2700 block of Dunwall Court by someone who entered through the front door.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: A gunman wearing dark clothing and a New York Yankees cap robbed the High's dairy store in the 8700 block of Satyr Hill Road of an undiscosed sum of money about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Robbery: An 85-year-old woman was about to enter her apartment in the 8300 block of Nunley Drive Wednesday when a man knocked her to the pavement and stole her purse, which contained cash and property valued at $50. Police said the man drove off in a maroon Subaru station wagon.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A 42-year-old woman was about to enter her home in the 700 block of Seth Court about 7: 20 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman grabbed her purse and struck her in the face. The purse contained $800 in traveler's checks, $100 in cash and a word processor valued at more than $400.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary/arrest: A man accused of stealing his former girlfriend's $430 TV in a break-in Tuesday at her apartment in the first block of Quiet Stream Court was arrested nearby the next day when he refused to pay cab fare.
