Man, 32, charged in fatal shooting

December 03, 1997|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A Woodlawn man was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting Monday of a maintenance worker -- the man he is alleged to have stabbed during a quarrel over a lover's triangle in May, county police said yesterday.

Edward McCorkle, 32, of the 5500 block Gwynndale Ave. was being held without bail in the Baltimore County Detention Center after his arrest in the slaying of Kevin Ricardo Reynolds, who died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after he was shot in the head Monday. McCorkle also is charged with a handgun violation.

Reynolds was shot at Owings Manor Apartments, where he was working on a plumbing problem, police said. The assailant fired numerous shots and fled on a bicycle.

Police said that Reynolds was stabbed May 13 during a fight with McCorkle over a woman who had dated both men. McCorkle had been scheduled to stand trial for attempted murder yesterday in the stabbing.
