Armed robbers hold up Sykesville Shell station

State police said they have little information about two men who robbed a gas station near Sykesville Sunday evening.

The armed robbers approached a clerk at a Shell station on Liberty Road near Oakland Road about 7: 15 p.m. and demanded money from the register, police said. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The men were described as black, about 30 years old and wearing hooded shirts, police said.

Fire

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 11: 13 p.m. Sunday to a barn fire in the 800 block of Driver Road. Units were out 33 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters from Gamber and West Friendship in Howard County assisted Sykesville at 5: 14 p.m. Sunday, responding to a house fire in the 7300 block of Brangles Road. Units were out 21 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 5: 23 p.m. Saturday to a brush fire in the 7400 block of Gaither Road. Units were out 32 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 2: 50 p.m. Saturday to a brush fire on Frontier Court and Stillwater Road. Units were out 27 minutes.
