Tri-Churches, Key Bank offer housing seminar

Tri-Churches Housing and Key Bank and Trust will conduct a free housing seminar from 6: 30 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. Thursday in the lower hall of St. Jerome's Head Start Center, 765 W. Hamburg St.

Seminar topics include an overview of the home-buying process, information about programs such as "Live Near Your Work" and an introduction to the free counseling services offered by Tri-Churches.

After attending the seminar, participants are eligible to attend free, in-depth home-buying classes offered by Tri-Churches and area lenders. The classes are scheduled for Jan. 9, 15 and 22 at the Head Start Center. Classes run from 6: 30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Free workshop Wednesday by NAACP, NationsBank

The NAACP and NationsBank are conducting a free homebuyer workshop from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 4805 Mount Hope Drive.

Workshop topics will include: Do I really want to buy a home, what can I do to get approved for a mortgage, how much does it really cost to buy a home and working with a real estate agent.

Participants will be awarded a certificate entitling them to apply for NationsBank affordable mortgages. Information: 410-602-9300.

Aberdeen senior housing grand opening is Friday

Fairbrooke Senior Apartments, the first affordable housing of its kind in Harford County, will celebrate its grand opening Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Aberdeen.

The complex at 700 W. Bel Air Ave. consists of 122 one- and two-bedroom apartments and is situated on 7.5 acres. It serves people 62 and older who have annual incomes of $11,000 to $25,950. It was developed by The Waterford Group and is managed by Mt. Washington Management Group Inc.
