First Night 'tickets' to go on sale

Admission buttons for First Night Annapolis will go on sale tomorrow for $10.

The buttons serve as tickets for the 400 performances that will ring in the New Year in the capital. This year's performances will include ice dance and magic shows, poetry readings, concerts and the midnight waterfront fireworks finale.

Entertainment will begin at 3 p.m. and end at midnight New Year's Eve. Attendance at the annual alcohol-free festival, which is being held for the eighth time this year, has averaged 10,000.

Buttons and programs will be available at Giant Food stores, First National Bank of Maryland branches, participating Zany Brainy and Starbucks stores, and Kaufmans at the Market House in Annapolis.

On Dec. 21, the price of the buttons goes up to $14.

Parking is free at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Rowe Boulevard.
