Mount Airy: firefighters responded at 8: 50 a.m. Friday to a house fire on Weller Road in Frederick County. Units were out three hours and 24 minutes.

Police

Mount Airy: A resident of Ridge Avenue told police that someone broke into her home through a basement window and stole a videocassette recorder and other electronic equipment between 4: 30 p.m. Thursday and 2: 30 p.m. Friday. The loss was estimated at $1,400.

Mount Airy: A resident of Pink Dogwood Court told police that a hunting bow was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at a car dealership on Century Drive between 8: 30 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday. The loss was estimated at $800.
