Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County.

Ellicott City: 9100 block of U.S. 40: Someone attempted to rob a man at an ATM machine Saturday. Police said the would-be robber, who had a handgun, fled without taking any money.

Ellicott City: 4500 block of Hemlock Cone Way: A bicycle was stolen from an open garage Thursday.

Ellicott City: 9200 block of U.S. 40: The Hair Cuttery was broken into on Saturday or Sunday, but nothing was taken.

Owen Brown: 7300 block of Mossy Brink Court: A Pizza Boli's driver was robbed at gunpoint Friday after making a delivery.

Owen Brown: 8300 block of Benson Drive: Someone accosted the manager of the Bob Evans restaurant after closing Monday. The robber stole $2,300 from the safe before fleeing.

Long Reach: 8700 block of Cloudleap Court: A black 1994 Saturn, Maryland license plate BTL-484, was stolen Thursday or Friday.

Kings Contrivance: 7100 block of Eden Brook Drive: Someone tried unsuccessfully to break into a house Thursday by disassembling a deadbolt lock.

Kings Contrivance: 7500 block of Weather Worn Way: A gray 1987 Toyota Camry, Maryland license plate 161-AVA, was stolen Saturday.

Town Center: A green 1997 Jeep Cherokee, Maryland license plate M023043, was stolen Saturday.

Savage: 9300 block of Breamore Court: Someone tried to break into a house between Friday and Sunday by breaking out a basement window.

North Laurel: A gold-colored 1989 Honda Accord, Maryland license plate EEB-376, was stolen Sunday.

Glenwood: 15100 block of Carrs Mill Road: A satellite dish and receiver were stolen from an unoccupied, unlocked house between Nov. 16 and Thursday.
