Two men trick cashiers into giving extra change

November 24, 1997

Two men got away with $120 from two Eldersburg fast-food restaurants Thursday before confused clerks realized they had been cheated, state police said.

State police said the men went together into the Twin Kiss and Taco Bell restaurants between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. and made small purchases with $50 bills.

The men confused the clerks during the change-making process and walked out with an extra $50 at one location and an extra $70 at the other.

Anyone with information about the men should call the Westminster barracks of the Maryland State Police at 410-848-3111.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 3: 06 p.m. Thursday to an auto fire on Route 32. Units were out 15 minutes.
