Weather

For the first time in the race, there is plenty of wind to go around for the entire Whitbread fleet. Two weather systems - high pressure centered at 44S/63E and low pressure centered at 60S/95E - are producing true Southern Ocean conditions and will continue to push the fleet toward Fremantle. Winds of 30-45 knots, with gusts to 50 knots, are expected for the boats at the front of the fleet, and winds of 20-30 knots are expected for the rest of the fleet.
