Route 100 bridge construction to shut segment of Old Montgomery Road

November 19, 1997|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A portion of Old Montgomery Road in Ellicott City will be closed from Friday to Monday while work crews install steel beams for the Route 100 bridge.

The State Highway Administration will close Old Montgomery between Routes 108 and 103 from 9 a.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday.

Drivers will take a detour along Routes 108 and 103 to Old Stockbridge Road.

If it rains, Old Montgomery probably will be closed the weekend after Thanksgiving, said Rose Muhlausen, an SHA spokes-woman.

The construction is part of a $21.7 million project to build Route 100 south of Snowden River Parkway to Interstate 95. The project is scheduled to be completed by fall 1998.
