Redskins report

November 18, 1997|By Bill Free

Record: 6-5

Last game: Lost to Dallas Cowboys, 17-14, Sunday at Texas Stadium.

Next game: New York Giants (7-4) Sunday night at 8 o'clock at Jack Kent Cooke Stadium. The Giants lead the NFC East by one game over the Redskins and Cowboys.

Norv Turner says: Turner was upset that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was on the sideline arguing for a pass-interference call against Stanley Richard early in the fourth quarter. "I don't think it's right for him to be at the 20-yard line talking to the officials," Turner said. "I can't go down there [coaches must stay within the 30-yard lines] and their coach can't. It's something that the Redskins as an organization have to look into."

Injuries: WR Alvin Harper (strained Achilles' will cause him to miss the Giants game); FB Larry Bowie (sprained ankle); DT Ryan Kuehl (sprained ankle).

Quotable: "The dumbest call I've seen in 15 years. The worst call I've seen in a long while it was pitiful." -- Redskins cornerback Darrell Green, on a pass-interference call against him during a 97-yard touchdown drive by Dallas that tied the score at 14.
