THE CURTAIN RISES on the Liberty High School Drama Club's fall production of "Our Town" at 7: 30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The 1938 play by Thorton Wilder is set in the small New England town of Grover's Corners and focuses on the Webb and Gibbs families.

Young sweethearts Emily Webb and George Gibbs meet, fall in love, marry and learn some important lessons.

What makes this classic play a little out of the ordinary is that one of the main characters is the narrator, known as the Stage Manager. This character takes a very active role in elaborating and even explaining some of the nuances of the play, which is staged with a minimum of props. This calls for some very convincing pantomime, and the Drama Club doesn't disappoint.

Tickets are $3 in advance and $4 at the door. Information: 410-751-3560.

Beginning at 7 p.m., diners will enjoy a full-course meal, including beverage and dessert, followed by the presentation of both vignettes.
