County to hold public meeting for comment on proposed laws

Carroll County government staff will hold a meeting to hear comments on two proposed ordinances at 3 p.m. Thursday in Room 300A of the County Office Building in Westminster.

One ordinance concerns illegal discharges into storm sewers, and the other addresses county personnel policies. Comments will be taken at Thursday's meeting in preparation for public hearings on the ordinances at 10 a.m. and 10: 30 a.m. Nov. 19.

The Storm Water Management Ordinance would prohibit illegal discharges into the storm sewer system.

Questions should be addressed to James Slater, administrator of the Bureau of Environmental Services, at 410-857-8123.

The personnel ordinance would: make minor title changes where appropriate; clarify certain leave requirements, posting requirements, resignation and termination procedures; create a single committee to assist with county personnel functions; and improve the personnel system.

The public hearings will be at same location. The County Office Building is at 225 N. Center St.

Copies of the ordinances are available at the office of the county clerk, Room 300, County Office Building, and at all county public library branches.
