Mount Airy man guilty in abuse of his sister

A Mount Airy man pleaded guilty in Carroll County Circuit Court yesterday to abusing his younger sister. Sentencing was deferred until March 18.

The man, 21, is not being identified to protect the privacy of his sister, now 15.

Prosecutors said the girl was molested and sexually abused on many occasions during a six-year period before she told school officials, who contacted police in January.


Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 1: 09 a.m. yesterday to an automatic alarm at Mount Airy Middle School. Units were out 46 minutes.

Mount airy: Firefighters responded at 9: 59 a.m. Sunday to a burning odor in the 5700 block of Catoctin Vista Drive in Frederick County. Units were out 18 minutes.

Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 12: 37 p.m. Friday to a fire alarm in the 500 block of E. Ridgeville Blvd. Units were out 20 minutes.

Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 12: 36 p.m. Friday to fallen electrical wires on Chelsea Court. Units were out one hour.

Winfield: Firefighters responded at 8: 03 a.m. Friday to a fire alarm in the 5300 block of Enterprise St. Units were out 50 minutes.
