Maryland women advance in ACC

Keri Sarver's penalty kick yesterday gave third-seeded Maryland a win over No. 6 N.C. State in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer tournament in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Regulation ended at 1-1, but Sarver's score gave the Terrapins a 4-3 edge in penalty kicks and set up a 4: 30 p.m. date today with Duke.

Men

Radford 3, UMBC 2, OT: Kevin Kelly scored 10 minutes into the first overtime to beat the Retrievers in the first round of the Big South tournament at Coastal Carolina.
