Dawning Light group helps those with depression their family, friends

Dawning Light, a support group for people with depression and friends and family of people with depression, will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning at 7: 30 p.m. Nov. 11, at the Coffee Junction, 803 Frederick Road.

Group facilitator Gary Blanchard employs a combination of personal experience with depression and psychological and spiritual insight to help people understand the effects of depression and to develop skills to deal with the disorder. Blanchard has written a 16-page booklet, "Escaping the Darkness," about his experience with depression.

The booklet is available at the Coffee House, along with several other booklets from Heartstone Books.
