Centennial spills Atholton in 2A South

Senior Briana Zolak had 13 kills to lead No. 1 Centennial to a 3-0 home victory over Atholton in a 2A South quarterfinal game, 15-0, 15-3, 15-1. Junior Lisa Chapman had 24 assists and Seniors Michelle Flather and Kathleen O'Conner had five kills apiece for the Eagles.

No. 3 River Hill 3, Howard 1: The Hawks moved on in the 2A South playoffs with a home victory over the Lions, 15-2, 15-0, 13-15, 15-3. Senior Amber Rieg paced River Hill by serving out the entire second game and finished with eight aces, and 15 assists.

No. 4 Glenelg 3, Oakland Mills 0: Senior Kim Laws was 27-30 in hits, had nine kills, served 9-for-11, had four aces and four point blocks to lead the Gladiators (11-5) to a home victory over the Scorpions (8-8) in a 1A South quarterfinal game, 15-4, 15-8, 15-10.

Williamsport 3, No. 9 Hammond 1: Despite a late rally and a combined 25 kills from Lauren Inouye and Andriane Panzra, the Bears (11-5) fell short in a Class 1A South quarterfinal match at Williamsport (12-2). Trailing two games to one, Hammond led 14-7 in the fourth game only to lose 16-14.
