Marsiglia installed as head of region's board of Realtors

Gilbert D. Marsiglia, president of Gilbert D. Marsiglia & Co. Inc., was installed as the 1998 president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors during ceremonies Tuesday at the Baltimore Country Club. He replaces Gayle Briscoe, a vice president of Otis Warren Real Estate Services.

Named the 1997 Realtor of the Year by the 3,000-member trade association, Marsiglia has served on several committees, ranging from arbitration to education to lock box task force. He is a life member of the Real Estate Million Dollar Association.

Also installed as officers for 1998 were: Marc Witman, Long & Foster Real Estate, president-elect; Patrick Kane, Coldwell Banker/Grempler Realty, vice president; and Patrick Welsh, O'Conor, Piper & Flynn, treasurer.

Elected to two-year terms to the board of directors were: Evelyn Beasley, O'Conor, Piper & Flynn; Yvette Chapman, Coldwell Banker Grempler Realty Inc.; Timothy Hearn, KLNB Inc.; William Iampieri, ERA Caton Realty Co.; Abram Lehman, Abe Lehman Associates; Charles Maykrantz, First National Mortgage Corp.; Esperance Sutton, Sutton Realty; and Mike Hollins and Kathleen Beadell, Long & Foster.

Malcolm Sherman, a past president of the association, received the President's Award for his dedication to the industry and for his assistance to the GBBR in its search for a executive vice president.

Joseph T. Landers, the new executive vice president, starts work Nov. 10.
