Ex-Jessup man pleads guilty in child porn case

October 28, 1997

A former Jessup man pleaded guilty yesterday in Anne Arundel Circuit Court to distributing child pornography over the Internet.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped two related charges against George Robbins, 40, formerly of the 2000 block of Citrus Ave. in Jessup. Robbins has moved to Silver Spring.

Judge Clayton R. Greene Jr. set sentencing for Jan. 9, 1998. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

Robbins was accused of offering child pornography photographs through electronic mail in March and April 1996 to a correspondent who turned out to be a federal Customs agent, according to charging documents.
