Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Southwestern District

Bank robbery: A man escaped with cash from the NationsBank branch in the 3200 block of Washington Blvd. about noon yesterday after giving a teller a holdup note that implied he was armed. No weapon was displayed. The robber fit the description a man who robbed three other banks in the area Oct. 2, 9 and 15.

Northeastern District

Stabbing: A 44-year-old man who was stabbed by his wife during argument about 3: 30 p.m. Wednesday in their home in the 2500 block of Southern Ave. was in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday. The wife, whose name was not available, was arrested and charged with assault by stabbing and related offenses.

Southern District

Theft: A man posing as an insurance salesman removed $400 from the pants of an elderly man in the victim's home in the 1200 block of Glyndon Ave. Tuesday. The man told the victim to disrobe and turn his back so that he could be given a physical examination for insurance purposes.

Western District

Burglary: A television, a microwave oven and a telephone were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 2400 block of McCulloh St.

Assault/arrest: Police arrested a man after a flammable liquid was thrown onto his girlfriend and she was then threatened her with a knife in their home in the 1000 block of Edmondson Ave. Tuesday. Edward M. Smith, 54, was charged with aggravated assault and related offenses, and possession of cocaine.

Robbery: Police were seeking a 12-year-old boy known as Terry who robbed a 10-year-old boy of his bike in the 1500 block of Mountmor Court about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Burglary: Two videocassette recorders, two cordless telephones, six $100 bills and 35 compact discs, valued at nearly $1,700, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 800 block of N. Payson St.

Central District

Rape: Police were seeking a man who kicked a woman in the face, raped her in her East Read Street apartment Monday and robbed her of 37 cents. The woman, who was treated at Mercy Medical Center, said the man followed her into her apartment after they spoke briefly outside the building.

Robbery: A 43-year-old man on crutches was in the 500 block of Laurens St. about 3 p.m. Tuesday when two women, one with a knife, knocked him to the ground and robbed him of his wallet, which contained $20, and a bag containing medication.

Eastern District

Robbery: A deliveryman for Utz potato chips was sitting in his truck in the 100 block of N. Luzerne Ave. about 1 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman ordered him to open the safe. The gunman escaped with cash.

Theft from vehicle: A compact disc player, five compact discs, clothing, cosmetics and jewelry, valued at more than $1,400, were stolen Tuesday from a 1994 Honda Accord parked in the 500 block of E. Madison St.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A gunman robbed a woman of less than $3 about 7: 30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Labyrinth Road.

Northern District

Theft: A circular saw valued at $70 was stolen Tuesday from the porch of a house in the 3800 block of Hickory Ave.

Burglary: Doors, electrical outlets, a smoke detector and a furnace, valued at more than $3,000, were stolen Tuesday from a house being renovated in the 400 block of Whitridge Ave.

Wilkens Precinct

Robbery: After requesting a pack of cigarettes at the Royal Farm store in the 4300 block of Hollins Ferry Road about 1: 20 a.m. Tuesday, a man pulled a gun on the clerk and escaped with cash.

Robbery: A man with a knife fled with cash from the 7-Eleven store in the 4300 block of Annapolis Road about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: A gunman robbed three boys of their wallets and an undisclosed sum of money in the 3800 block of Washington Ave. about 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Robbery: A father and son were walking across a parking lot in the 7900 block of Dunhill Village Circle about 9 p.m. Tuesday when two men, one with a handgun, forced them to the ground and robbed them of about $35.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary/arrest: A man was arrested Tuesday and charged with burglary after residents of the 1700 block of Kurtz Ave. saw him enter a neighbor's house. No property was reported missing. Jesse Raiford, 47, of the 200 block of N. Amity St. in Baltimore was charged with burglary and giving police a false statement. He was being held at the precinct pending a bail hearing.
