Howard County police are searching for two men who robbed an elderly Highland man after forcing their way into the man's house at gunpoint late Monday night.

Police said a 73-year-old man answered the door of his home in the 14100 block of Brighton Dam Road about 11 p.m. The man, whom police did not identify, told officers that he had a brief conversation with a man at the door before another man appeared carrying a shotgun.

Both forced their way in, bound the resident and ransacked the house, police said.

The report said the men fled with a undisclosed amount of cash. The resident, who was not hurt, freed himself and called police.
