Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Northern District

Bank robbery/arrest: A man was arrested and charged with robbing the NationsBank in the 3100 block of St. Paul St. about 10 a.m. yesterday. The man, who gave a teller a holdup note and fled with cash, was captured while standing in the vestibule of a building two blocks from the bank. Thomas Washington, 36, of the 1600 block of E. Oliver St. was charged in yesterday's robbery and two others -- Provident Bank of Maryland in the 3100 block of Greenmount Ave. on Sept. 11 and NationsBank in the 3400 block of Belair Road on Oct. 14. He was being held at the Central Booking and Intake Center pending a bail hearing.

Northwestern District

Shooting: A man was seated in a car in the 3500 block of Manchester Ave. about 10 p.m. Monday when the driver pulled a handgun and shot him in the left hand. The victim was treated at Sinai Hospital.

Western District

Shooting: While several bystanders watched two men fighting in the 800 block of W. Fayette St. about 8 p.m. Monday, someone in the crowd pulled a handgun and fired a shot, wounding a 23-year-old male bystander in the right leg. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Southern District

Shooting: A 16-year-old boy was in the 2700 block of Round Road in Cherry Hill about 11: 30 a.m. Monday when he was shot in the back by an unknown assailant. The youth was in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday.

Central District

Burglary: More than $300 was stolen Monday from a cash box at Burrito Brothers in the Light Street pavilion at Harborplace.

Counterfeit money: Someone used a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase produce at Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop in the Light Street pavilion at Harborplace on Monday. It was the second time in two days that merchants at Harborplace found counterfeit $20 bills among their cash.

Eastern District

Church burglary: Someone entered Rising Sun Baptist Church in the 1900 block of Regester St. on Monday and fled without taking any property when the burglar alarm went off.

Southwestern District

Theft: A .38-caliber Taurus-brand revolver valued at more than $400 was stolen Sunday from a house in the 4200 block of Parkton St.

White Marsh Precinct

Carjacking: A woman was about to enter her 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse with tags EBA 412 that was parked at Golden Ring Mall about 8 p.m. Monday when a man grabbed her keys and stole the car.

Essex Precinct

Robbery/arrest: Police arrested a man and charged him with striking a 35-year-old man with a bottle and robbing him of $25 in the 1700 block of Old Eastern Ave. about 4 p.m. Monday. Held at the county Detention Center was Gregory J. Emerson, 34, of no fixed address.

North Point Precinct

Bank robbery: A white-haired man with a white beard gave a teller a holdup note and fled with cash about 1: 10 p.m. Monday at Signet Bank in the first block of Center Place in Dundalk.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: Ten Playboy magazines and $10 in coins were stolen Monday from a house in the 10800 block of Harford Road.
