Walter Sondheim wins education award

Walter Sondheim, a leader in Maryland school reforms and a member of the State Board of Education, is a 1997 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the National Association of State Boards of Education.

A Baltimore community leader, Sondheim was one of only three honorees from around the country. He received the award last week at the association's annual conference in Kiawah Island, S.C.
