Carlin is vice president at MedImmune Inc.

MedImmune Inc., based in Gaithersburg, named David A. Carlin vice president of biostatistics and data management.

Before joining MedImmune, Carlin was a departmental director at Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals of Rockville. He received his doctorate in experimental psychology from Illinois Institute of Technology and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

McCormick names Faridi vice president of R&D

McCormick & Co., the Sparks-based spice and flavorings maker, appointed Hamed Faridi vice president for research and development. He previously was director of process development for the RJR Nabisco subsidiary, Specialty Products Co. A native of Iran, he received a doctorate from Kansas State University.

The Hunt Valley resident is active in several professional organizations and is chairman and past president of the American Association of Cereal Chemists.

U.S. Enrichment names Simon vice president

United States Enrichment Corp. named Darryl A. Simon vice president of human resources and administration for the Bethesda-based producer/provider of uranium fuel enrichment services.

Formerly director of human resources for ManorCare Health Services, he is a graduate of John Carroll University and is a master's candidate at Johns Hopkins University. The Columbia resident is an active member of the Black Human Resources Network and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Kaiser names Bangledorf account director

Kaiser & Associates appointed Debbie Bangledorf account director. She was assistant director of public affairs for the Hopkins Children's Center before joining the Woodberry-based public relations and marketing agency. She is a master's candidate at the University of Baltimore and a member of the Maryland Society of Health Care Marketing & Public Relations. She is on the board of the Carson Scholars Fund.

Baldwin, Krieger take posts at Weinberg Harris

Weinberg Harris & Associates named James M. Baldwin account executive and Jacqueline N. Krieger assistant account executive at the Baltimore ad agency.

Baldwin, a resident of Fells Point, formerly was director of communication for the Epilepsy Association of Maryland. A graduate of the University of Delaware, he is active in the Public Relations Society of America and the Baltimore Public Relations Council.

Krieger, a Miami (of Ohio) University graduate, formerly was an event coordinator for Bibelot Bookstores. She lives in Dickeyville.

Banking and finance

Gallagher promoted to vice president

Sandy Spring National Bank appointed Lynn Gallagher vice president. The Marymount Manhattan College graduate joined the Olney-based bank in 1995 as an assets and trust management officer. She is a doctoral candidate at American University and an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Suburban Maryland.

Health care

Kennedy, Hoover directors at Maryland General

Maryland General Hospital appointed Lee Kennedy director of community and public relations and David Hoover director of marketing and development.

Before the Baltimore-based health facility, Kennedy was director of public relations for Northwest Hospital Center. A graduate of Washington & Lee University, he resides in Timonium. Hoover, formerly a vice president with Westhaven Institutional Pharmacy in Perrysburg, Ohio, is a graduate of Kent State University and active with the American Heart Association and United Way.
