Boat beat: Today is Day 28 of the race, and for some crews, it's the last day of their budgeted food. Silk Cut had planned on 30 days of meals, and jettisoned its supply of snacks just before the race because of the added 33 pounds. EF Education, at the back of the fleet, had budgeted for 30 days, but may be sailing for 36. The only boat that seems to have planned correctly may be Chessie Racing with 35 days of food on board.

Weather: High pressure south and east of the fleet.
