The family of a 19-year-old Gambrills man who was fatally shot Thursday night after an argument outside a Millersville bar is trying to raise money for his burial, his aunt said yesterday.

Jeffrey Watson was shot outside Gus' Getaway on Veterans Highway after being chased by a man he and some friends had argued with at another bar, county police said.

Shot once in the torso, Watson was pronounced dead a short time later at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police were searching yesterday for Nathan Genorris Brown III, 25, of the first block of Nancy Ave. in Millersville, who has been charged in an arrest warrant with first-degree murder and assault with intent to murder.

Watson and his friends were leaving Sherry's Place in the 700 block of Generals Highway before midnight when another man at the bar argued with them, police said. The man pursued the four in a pickup truck as they left in their car, witnesses told police.

Minutes later the car pulled off the road in front of Gus' Getaway, followed by the truck. When Watson and one of his friends got out of the car, the man in the truck fired at them, hitting Watson, police said.

"He doesn't have any life insurance and I knew my sister-in-law and brother could use the help," said Watson's aunt, Jessie Watson of Odenton. "They don't have enough money to bury him."

"If there's anything left over from the donations after the burial, we'll use the money to help capture the man who killed him," his aunt said. "Maybe we'll use it as a reward for someone who helps turn him in."

Contributions to the Memorial Fund for Jeff Watson may be sent to any branch of the Bank of Glen Burnie or to Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Highway S.W., Glen Burnie 21061.
