Junior midfielder Prosper Uwera scored the game-winner on a shot from five yards with 6: 43 remaining as Siena College edged visiting Loyola, 2-1, in men's soccer yesterday.
The win knocked the Greyhounds (6-6-2, 5-2-0) out of first place and lifted the Saints (7-5-1, 5-1-0) into the top slot in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Loyola took a 1-0 halftime lead on Christof Lindemayer's unassisted goal at 32: 46 before Siena's Mike Cellura tied the score at the 53: 24 mark of the second half.
Siena keeper Eric Lind made 12 saves, two more than Loyola's Dave Frieder.
Field hockey
Towson 3, Boston U. 1: Senior Lauren Volk (Loch Raven) scored two goals as the Tigers (6-7, 3-3) won for the fifth time in six games, defeating visiting Boston University (6-7, 3-2) in America East action.
Volk moved into second place on the Tigers' career scoring list with 19 goals, seven behind leader Lisa McCullen. Kate Cusick (Salisbury) scored the Terriers' lone goal with 14: 43 left.
