An Owings woman was robbed of money and credit cards Wednesday at a stop sign in Friendship, county police said.

Shelly James, 30, told police she was at a stop sign at Boyds Turn and Friendship roads shortly after 8 a.m. when a man with an automatic handgun approached her car.

He demanded money and credit cards and James handed them over, police said. The man ran across Friendship Road and into the woods, James told police.

Millersville: Someone kicked in the basement door of a house in the 900 block of Indian Landing Road between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday and stole a television, a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22-caliber rifle.

Glen Burnie: A thief smashed the front doors to Jennifer Convertibles and Kwik Kopy in the 500 block of E. Ordinance Road about 6: 30 a.m., ransacked the offices and stole a compact disc player and two video cassette tapes.

Brooklyn Park: A man with a stocking mask and no front teeth walked into Murry's Steaks in the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway about 5: 30 p.m., pulled out a handgun and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of money.
