Arnold man charged in stabbing of brother, 18

County police arrested an Arnold man yesterday on charges of stabbing his brother in the back during an argument.

Michael Hooper, 18, of the 1200 block of Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. was treated for a collapsed lung at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and released yesterday.

Robert Leroy Hooper IV, 22, who suffered minor injuries, was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released.

Police said Michael and Robert were arguing at their home over a family matter shortly after 1 a.m., when Robert pulled a knife and threatened Michael.

The two struggled over the weapon, and Robert stabbed Michael in the back near his right shoulder blade, police said.

Robert was charged with first- and second-degree assault.
