Four vacant houses to be razed for boulevard extension

October 13, 1997

Jones of Annapolis, a county contractor, will receive $27,000 to remove four vacant homes on Mission Street this month to make way for the extension of East-West Boulevard to Ritchie Highway.

The contractor plans to fill and seed the properties, which the county bought this year. In fall 1999, the county will extend the boulevard from Jumpers Hole Road to Ritchie Highway near Mission Street.

The county will extend the road from Gov. Stone Parkway to Jumpers Hole Road beginning next spring. When completed, the road will link Ritchie and Veterans highways.

Residents with questions may call the Department of Public Works customer relations office: 410-222-7582.
