A 23-year-old man awaiting trial on burglary, theft and drug charges was found hanging dead in his cell at the Baltimore County Detention Center shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday in an apparent suicide, county police reported.
The inmate, Laurie Wade Batten of the 4400 block of Powell Ave. in Northeast Baltimore, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drug possession and was charged Wednesday with theft and burglary, according to court records.
