Conditions of four men injured in plane crash upgraded

October 06, 1997|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The conditions of four men injured when a small plane crashed Saturday in Prince George's County were upgraded yesterday, a spokeswoman at the Washington Burn Center said.

The men were among six in the single-engine plane that was en route from Manheim, Pa., to Washington for the Promise Keepers rally, when the aircraft crashed near College Park.

David Brubaker, 26, the pilot, was in serious condition, and passengers Robert Miller, 27; Burke Hulst, 26; and Carl Harter, 25, were in fair condition, the spokeswoman said.

Two other passengers were treated at Prince George's Hospital Center and released Saturday.

The National Transportation Safety Board is continuing its investigation of the crash.

"One thing that will hamper us somewhat is the plane was about destroyed by fire," NTSB spokesman Pat Cariseo said yesterday.
