Glen Burnie worker hit by forklift dies

A 49-year-old construction worker died yesterday of injuries he received when he was struck by a forklift that was backing up in West Baltimore, said Battalion Chief Hector Torres, a city Fire Department spokesman.

Baltimore police said the Glen Burnie man was at a job site in the 1500 block of School St. about 11: 35 a.m. when the accident occurred. The man, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, died of multiple injuries at 12: 21 p.m. at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.

The accident is being investigated by Maryland Occupational Safety and Health.
