New Homes

September 28, 1997

Stapf Homes has opened a model of the Coventry, one of 10 traditional floor plans with a minimum of 2,400 square feet that the firm is building on quarter-acre lots at West Gate in Bel Air. The Harford County community includes a pond that is home to ducks, geese and beaver.

Brick fronts and mailboxes, gas heat and hot water, hardwood foyers, 9-foot first-floor ceilings, poured concrete foundations and unfinished basements are some of the standard features.

The Coventry is a 2,600-square-foot home with a beginning price of $235,900. An 11-by-12-foot living room and 11-by-13-foot dining room flank the two-story foyer.

Also on the first floor are a two-car garage, 9-by-10-foot library, 21-by-12-foot kitchen, 10-by-8-foot breakfast nook, guest closet, powder room and 15-by-18-foot step-down family room with a gas fireplace.

Upstairs, the master suite has a walk-in closet, 18-by-12-foot bedroom and bath with his-and-her vanities, soaking tub and separate shower. A laundry room, linen closet, full hall bath and three additional bedrooms complete the second floor.

Starting at $227,200 for 2,495 square feet, the Barrett is the least-expensive home Stapf is building at West Gate.

Across the front is a 14-by-11-foot living room, foyer, 9-by-8-foot library and two-car garage. The first floor also includes laundry and powder rooms, coat closet, 12-by-11-foot dining room, 20-by-11-foot kitchen, 10-by-8-foot breakfast area and 11-by-14-foot family room.

An 18-by-11-foot bedroom, walk-in closet and bath with dual vanities make up the second-floor master suite. There are three other bedrooms, a linen closet and full hall bath.

With 3,494 square feet and a base price of $287,200, the West-shire is the largest and most expensive home Stapf is offering.

The sales office is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Take Interstate 95 north to exit 77B, go left on Ring Factory Road, right on Tollgate Road and right into West Gate.
