Nicole Totis wins scholarship from Mount St. Mary's

Nicole Totis of Westminster has won the first Julia V. Waldron Nursing Scholarship from Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg.

A nursing major, Nicole qualified for the dean's list in the fall 1996 and spring 1997 semesters as a freshman. She is a 1996 graduate of North Carroll High School.

She is the daughter of Michael and Miriam Biblehimer of Deep Run.

The scholarship was started in 1996 for a Mount sophomore or junior interested in a career in nursing or biology. The winner is selected based on academic achievement.

Police

Westminster: Police received a report Wednesday that someone spray-painted a slide at Whispering Meadows Park. Damage was estimated at $100.

Westminster: A Taneytown resident told police Sunday that someone broke a window in his vehicle while it was parked at Cranberry Mall and stole property. The loss was estimated at $590.

Westminster: A Gaithersburg resident told police Saturday that someone stole property from his vehicle while it was parked at the Babylon municipal lot. The loss was estimated at $850.
