Athletic club plans bull, oyster roast

THE GAMBRILLS Athletic Club's bull and oyster roast will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 4 at the club hall, on McKnew Road. Jerry and the Heartaches will provide music from 8 p.m. to midnight, with food being served from 7 p.m. to 10: 30 p.m. Tickets are $20. Proceeds will help support the club's baseball teams. Parents meeting set

Arundel Middle School is sponsoring a parents meeting from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the school's media center on "Adolescence -- What's Happening To My Child?" Health educator Anne Biddle, who holds a master's degree in child and family development, will present the program. For more information, call the school at 410-674-6900.

Heritage society to meet

The general meeting of the Odenton Heritage Society will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Odenton Library. Al Luckenbach, Anne Arundel County archaeologist, will speak and present a slide presentation on the London Town findings. London Town, on the South River, was a thriving tobacco port in the 1680s. Church plans crafts fair

Trinity United Methodist Church will hold a crafts fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Odenton Fire Hall. Crafts people and vendors from several Maryland counties and Northern Virginia will be displaying and selling crocheted and knitted items, needlepoint, quilts, leaded and stained glass, wood carvings, small lawn and home furnishings,ceramics, dried flowers and other floral arrangements and jewelry. Polynesian Revue

Epiphany Episcopal Church is holding a Hawaiian Luau and Polynesian Revue from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday at the Odenton Fire Hall, on Route 175. Food will be served from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with entertainment from 8 p.m. to midnight. The Meki Tamure dance troop will perform the fire dance, hula and other Tahitian dances. Odenton VFW Post to meet

Odenton VFW Post 5172 will meet at 7: 30 tonight at the Kiwanis Building, 1363 Becknel Ave. All veterans who have served overseas in any conflict in which the United States participated are invited. Dystonia presentation

Jules Balog, a representative of the National Dystonia Research Foundation and local support groups, will give a presentation from 10: 30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. tomorrow at the O'Malley Senior Center, 1275 Odenton Road.
