Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County.

Ellicott City: 8400 block of U.S. 40: There was an attempt to snatch a woman's purse on the parking lot of the Normandy Bowling Alley. The woman managed to hold onto the purse and the would-be robber ran away.

Elkridge: 6600 block of Santa Barbara Court: A red 1994 Ford truck, Maryland license plate PPQ-822, was stolen between Friday and Sunday.

Elkridge: 6300 block of Beechfield Avenue: An ATM card was stolen from a house Thursday. Police said the burglar took a shower and lounged about before leaving.

Owen Brown: 9000 block of Snowden River Parkway: A blue 1995 Nissan Maxima, Maryland license plate BME-911, was stolen Sunday.

Long Reach: 6300 block of Distant Rock Path: Someone stole a bicycle from an open garage Friday or Saturday.

Harper's Choice: 5900 block of Turnabout Lane: Someone broke into an apartment building's storage area Friday or Saturday. A bicycle, hair dryer, comforter and bicycle helmet were stolen.

Wilde Lake: 10500 block of Twin Rivers Road: A black 1992 Honda Nighthawk motorcycle, Maryland license plate 612401, was stolen between Thursday and Sunday.

Hickory Ridge: 10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road: A lavender 1997 Plymouth Neon, Maryland license plate EJA-331, was stolen between Friday and Sunday.

Jessup: 8100 block of Fleming St.: Someone broke into a house Friday by cutting the screen door and breaking the glass in the front door. Three hundred dollars was stolen.

Scaggsville: 10000 block of old Columbia Pike: A blue 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity, Maryland license plate CWN-698, was stolen Friday.
