Rich Mullins,41, a best-selling contemporary Christian singer, was killed in an automobile accident Friday in Lostant, Ill.

Mr. Mullins' biggest recording was 1988's "Awesome God." He was also known for his collaboration with Amy Grant, for whom he wrote several songs, including "Sing Your Praise to the Lord." He also wrote for Debbie Boone.

Arthur T. Roth,91, who turned a tiny branch bank into the largest chain on Long Island while financing widespread development, died Wednesday in New York.

Max Heymans,79, a Dutch designer who began his career designing hats during World War II while hiding from the Nazis, died Saturday of burns after a fire at his home in Amsterdam,

Netherlands.
