Teen dies from injuries she suffered in fire

A 17-year-old girl, who was critically burned in August in a house fire caused by children playing with matches, died Friday at the burn unit at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Shondra Green, whose home address was not immediately available, was visiting friends in the 7100 block of Bexhill Road on Aug. 22 when the fire broke out in the first-floor living room of the semidetached dwelling.

Green, who was trapped in the living room and suffered third-degree burns over more than 80 percent of her body, was pulled from the burning house by two men who were working in the area. Her rescuers and three other people in the house suffered minor injuries.
