Marlins: Outrighted IF Chris Clapinski to Triple-A Charlotte.

Orioles: Named Bowie Baysox SS David Lamb Minor League Player of the Month for August after he led Double-A Eastern League with a .375 batting average, drove in 17 runs and scored 19.

Pirates: Reinstated IF Kevin Young from 15-day DL.


Hornets: Signed G Darnell Mee.

Timberwolves: Agreed to three-year contract with C Paul Grant, first-round pick.
