Spirit signs another All-Star in Fire's Huber

September 12, 1997|By Doug Brown

Reinhold Huber, the Eastern Indoor Soccer League's top scorer this summer, has been signed by the Spirit to a one-year contract.

Huber, of the Huntsville (Ala.) Fire, scored a league-high 97 points, edging Renato Samtaio, signed earlier this week by the Spirit, by one point. Huber is the fourth EISL All-Star signed by the Spirit in two weeks.

"Reinhold was a one-man wrecking crew for Huntsville, and he's eager to show he can duplicate that success in Baltimore and the National Professional Soccer League," said Spirit general manager Drew Forrester.
