Woman receives year in jail on drug charges

September 11, 1997

A Sykesville woman, who pleaded guilty to heroin charges in June, was sentenced in Carroll Circuit Court yesterday to one year in jail.

Judge Raymond E. Beck Sr. sentenced Vicki A. Stone, 26, of the 7400 block of Gaither Road, to a three-year prison term, then suspended all but one year.

She will be allowed to serve the term in a drug treatment facility.

Stone will be on probation for five years after her release, but must complete drug therapy as counselors direct, even if the jail sentence is completed before her therapy, court records show.
