One person was killed and at least six others were wounded in a shooting incident late last night on an East Baltimore street, city police said.

Details were sketchy, but police said at least one gunman fired shots into a group of people in the 500 block of N. Collington Ave. about 11 p.m.

The wounded were taken by ambulance to at least two hospitals, and conditions of the victims were not immediately known.

Homicide detectives and Eastern District officers were questioning the injured in an effort to identify the gunman, and several other witnesses were being questioned at police headquarters.
