A Baltimore County police officer responding to a 911 call lost control of her vehicle yesterday afternoon and struck a 30-year-old woman walking at Reisterstown Road and Naylors Lane in Pikesville, county police said.

The pedestrian, Monica McDowell, whose address police did not release, was taken to Northwest Hospital Center where she was treated for minor bruises and released.

Officer Sharon Creen, of the Garrison Precinct, was responding to a report of a stabbing at the 4000 block of Old Court Road at 3: 25 p.m. when the accident occurred, said Cpl. Jim Elliott, a county police spokesman.

Elliott said Creen struck two vehicles before driving onto the curb and hitting McDowell.

Charges have not been filed pending an investigation, and it was not clear whether Creen would be placed on administrative duty, Elliott said.
