Angels: Have lost three straight, four of five and 13 of 19. Tim Salmon's two-homer game was his second of the year and 11th of his career. Tony Phillips was 0-for-3 with two walks, ending a 12-game hitting streak. His career best was a 13-game streak in 1994.

Phillies: Bobby Estalella's three homers tied a team record for a nine-inning game, accomplished 14 times, the last by Benito Santiago on Sept. 15, 1996, in Chicago. Mike Schmidt and Chuck Klein hit four home runs for Philadelphia in 10-inning games. At 30-21, Philadelphia has the third-best record in the NL since the All-Star break, trailing Florida and Los Angeles.

Expos: Montreal has a club-record 151 homers, surpassing last season's total of 148.

Pirates: Have given up three or more homers in a game nine times this season. They're 1-8 in those games.

Rangers: Rick Helling's previous strikeout high was nine in Florida's game against Montreal last Sept. 8. His only complete game is a nine-hitter against Minnesota on May 6, 1994.
