Sabrina and her guests cast a double whammy

Best bet

September 05, 1997|By Chris Kaltenbach

ABC offers a double dose of the best part of its much-hyped Friday night family lineup.

"Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" (9 p.m.-9: 30 p.m. and 9: 30 p.m.-10 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) benefits not only from clever writing and the appealingly realistic Melissa Joan Hart (who makes Sabrina both a real teen-ager and one who's pretty hard not to like), but also the coolest lineup of cameos and guest stars on TV -- a lineup that in the show's first season included everyone from the Orioles' Brady Anderson to Raquel Welch.

First up tonight, Sabrina finds herself embroiled in her very own Salem witch trial. In the second show, Sabrina pulls baby-sitting duty and ends up turning her charge into an adult; Randy Travis pulls cameo duty.
