Aron to go to Md. hospital for 60-day evaluation

ROCKVILLE -- Ruthann Aron, the former U.S. Senate candidate charged with soliciting the murders of her husband and a lawyer, will be moved from a Montgomery County hospital to a state mental health center for a 60-day evaluation by state doctors.

On Tuesday, a county circuit judge rejected a request by Aron's lawyer that she be evaluated as an outpatient and allowed to live with a friend.

Aron, 54, has entered an insanity plea on charges she tried to hire a hit man to kill Dr. Barry Aron and Arthur G. Kahn. She will be moved to the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center for evaluation before her trial Oct. 27.
